The 2020 season is now officially on the horizon. The NFL and it’s 32 franchises released their 2020 schedule today and many fans around the league are ecstatic and ready for a run at the Lombardi Trophy.
As a Bengals fan, my hope and optimism is at an all time high. Only 14 days ago, the Cincinnati Bengals drafted LSU’s Heisman winning quarterback Joe Burrow with the #1 overall pick to cap off an out-of-character off season for Los Tigres Del Norte.
The Bengals bolstered their roster with a wave of talented rookies in the draft and big time free agents such as: DJ Reader, Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander.
After looking at this schedule, I’m genuinely feeling good about the 2020 run. The Bengals have 5 games against 1st year head coaches. They only have 2 prime time games, week 2 and week 15, but the Cincinnati Bengals should be ready to roar in 2020.
But enough chatter, let’s look at the 2020 season week-by-week,
WEEK 1: Sept. 13 — Los Angeles Chargers – 04:05 p.m. (CBS)
WIN (1-0): Joe Burrow begins his career at home vs a young LA team with a question mark at QB. W.
WEEK 2: Sept. 17 (Thu) — at Cleveland Browns – 8:20 (NFL Network)
WIN (2-0): Thursday night on the road vs the Dawg pound? I like our chances. Burrow V. Baker. Let’s do it.
WEEK 3: Sept. 27 — at Philadelphia Eagles – 1:00 p.m. (CBS)
LOSS (2-1): God, I hate the Eagles, but I could see them weasel a win away from the 2-0 Bengals in week 3 in Philly.
WEEK 4: Oct. 4 — Jacksonville Jaguars – 1:00 p.m. (CBS)
WIN (3-1): I love teams that question marks at the QB spot. Big home W for the boys here.
WEEK 5: Oct. 11 — at Baltimore Ravens – 1:00 p.m. (CBS)
LOSS (3-2): Big Truss and Earl Thomas probably double team us on the road and Lamar goes off for 500. L.
WEEK 6: Oct. 18 — at Indianapolis Colts – 1:00 p.m. (FOX)
WIN (4-2): Philip Rivers? See ya. Love the boys being in a dome. Bengals 31-20.
WEEK 7: Oct. 25 — Cleveland Browns – 1:00 p.m. (CBS)
WIN (5-2): Sorry lil bro, Go get the broom. Bengals SWEEP at home.
WEEK 8: Nov. 1 — Tennessee Titans – 1:00 p.m. (CBS)
LOSS (5-3): King Henry rushes for 250, Tannehill throws for 35. Bengals fall apart before the bye.
WEEK 9: BYE
WEEK 10: Nov. 15 — at Pittsburgh Steelers – 1:00 p.m. (FOX)
LOSS (5-4): Fuck, I hate losing to these weirdos. Yellow cum towels win at home.
WEEK 11: Nov. 22 — at Washington Redskins – 1:00 p.m. (CBS)
WIN (6-4): Chase Young best player in the draft? Yeah right, hold dat tiger nerd. Bengals hopefully stay healthy at the Fedex sandbox.
WEEK 12: Nov. 29 — New York Giants – 1:00 p.m. (FOX)
WIN (7-4): Danny Nickels 5 INTS? Wouldn’t doubt it. Bengals take a bite out of the Big Apple.
WEEK 13: Dec. 6 — at Miami Dolphins – 1:00 p.m. (CBS)
WIN (8-4): Burrow V. Tua (kinda.) Tua’s probably not on the field here, but Burrow proves why he went before Tua in this years draft.
WEEK 14: Dec. 13 — Dallas Cowboys – 1:00 p.m. (FOX)
LOSS (8-5): Dallas is too good right now. Zeke rushes for 200 yards and Andy Dalton probably comes in to seal the game.
WEEK 15: Dec. 21 (Mon) — Pittsburgh Steelers – 8:15 p.m. (ESPN)
WIN (9-5): Burrow flexes on the wannabe murder hornets and rings in a new dey.
WEEK 16: Dec. 27 — at Houston Texans – 1:00 p.m. (CBS)
LOSS (9-6): Deshaun goes HAM on us at home. Bengals make the playoff scenario a little scary by dropping this game.
WEEK 17: Jan. 3 — Baltimore Ravens – 1:00 p.m. (CBS)
LOSS (9-7): Lamar rushes for 500, Ingram scores 2 and the Ravens lock up the AFC North. Bengals settle for the wildcard.
So that’s my prediction folks, Bengals go 9-7 with a wildcard berth in the 2020 playoffs. Burrow leads them to the playoff and hopefully a playoff win in his rookie year.
