The 2020 season will go down as one of the wackiest seasons of all time, if there even is one. One of the key issues keeping us from being able to watch America’s pastime is money. The owner and players are going back and forth essentially negotiating over money. Yes, I know, billionaires vs. millionaires arguing over money.

There have been many proposals tossed out into the air on how to generate the revenue back into the ball clubs. One of proposals was for teams to sell ad space on their jerseys, similar to NBA and NFL (practice) teams have been doing for a few years now.

So, that got me thinking. What would be some of the best advertising/team combos out there? Would teams like the Mariners stay local to their region and play with a Starbucks logo across their chest? Or would franchises chase the big bucks and simply take the highest bid?

In my opinion this is a great way to generate revenue that would normally come from tickets and concessions. Fuck it, it’s a wacky year. Why not add to the wackiness and go all out? The NBA has done this in live games and it has seemed to work exceptionally well.

Paypal doesn’t necessarily go with the Phoenix Suns’ colorway and Harley-Davidson doesn’t exactly fit the mold in Milwaukee, so I embarked on a match-making journey to find out what would be the best pairs in the MLB in 2020.
