Never in my 25 years of life have I ever watched NASCAR race, nor did I plan to, just not my thing. However, this is the first time that I have EVER had thoughts about anything NASCAR related, thanks to Bubba Wallace.

Today, I was scrolling through Twitter, like I do every day, and I came across the news of the FBI investigating the noose hanging incident.

When I first read this news, of course I was glad that it wasn’t a hate crime. Then when I read further, I learned that this rope has been up since 2019. Now, how the hell does this go unnoticed for almost a year? Why is that just now being brought up? I truly don’t understand that at all.

The worst part in all of this is that Bubba Wallace is receiving hate because of this. He is being compared to Jussie Smollet, the TV star who reported a false hate crime attack about a year ago if you don’t know who I am referring to.

Social media is buzzing with idiots like this trying to make Bubba out to be a liar.

Let me say this, if you are trashing Bubba for this, something that he didn’t even report himself, you are incompetent and you’re telling on yourself quite frankly.

“But even if he didn’t report it, he was still eating up the media exposure and attention. He should have shut it down and…” Go to hell. That response right there comes from anyone who isn’t a minority. Growing up black in a predominantly white neighborhood and school, I learned that if something looks/seems racist, chances are it is racist.

Unfortunately, him going on the view and calling those who said this was a hoax simple-minded is going to cause him to face a substantial amount of backlash going forward.

I have a question for all of you guys: If you were Bubba Wallace’s crew member and you see a rope hanging from his garage, are you going to stay silent? Especially with the way America is being divided right now? If the answer to that question is yes, you need to take a look in the mirror.

As I have stated earlier, I have never watched a NASCAR race in my 25 years on this earth, but Bubba Wallace has gained a new fan. For him to take all the bullshit that he has been taking, to stay ten toes down and continue to be resilient, you can’t help but respect it.

My message to all of you that are slandering Bubba and thinking micro: we should not be rubbing anything like in people’s faces like, “see I told you he has lying.” That’s the wrong approach. Now is not the time to be delighting in this because it wasn’t a hate crime, while trashing Bubba and saying he is a liar. If you are doing that, think about what that says about you. The only proper response to this situation is relief.

Also, just because this wasn’t a hate crime, doesn’t mean that hate crimes do not exist, because they do.
